Well, I was in quite a dirge-ful mood last night, n’est-ce pas? I still am, pretty much, but I woke up this morning, and I suppose that accounts for something.

You know, I was thinking last night about what kind of movie could be made out of my life. I don’t claim to be a screenplay writer, but I think I could come up with something that people would watch, if only out of morbid curiosity.
I think it would probably have to be in some kind of comedy-drama category (is there such a thing? Maybe I would have to make up my own genre heh). I am torn on a title. I think it is a cross between Whose Life Is It, Anyway and Momma Missed the Train.
I think Spencer Breslin (the kid who played the child Rusty in Disney’s The Kid) would be a shoe-in to play Gregory. Although he may not have enough angst. And he’s not exactly of mixed ethnicity. LMAO. I suppose Jake Smollet could play Gregory, as well. That Smollet family has more kids than 10 rabbits in Hawaii, I swear. I can’t think of a name offhand of someone to play Donovan, but any sufficiently hyper, pain in the neck preschooler will do.
As for myself, the only people who come to mind when I imagine someone playing me are maybe Roseanne or Rosie O’Donnell. Not that they are anything like me, or look much like me. But the alternative would be maybe the Momma in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? OK, OK, kidding. A fantasy, then? I would love it if Sigourney Weaver played me. I think she could play me with the right mix of humor and slightly off-kilter craziness. What do you think? Although who would play me as a child?
I don’t know how important any other parts would be as far as actors and actresses go. I don’t have a large enough mental repertoire of actors to find someone bizarre enough to play my mother, or annoying enough to play my ex.
I would probably have it filmed right in the same places I have lived. Less romantic, more real. Realism bites. Certain scenes are really not necessary, either from sheer boringness or just being too sad and horrible. But other scenes such as the nude skier we saw in Aspen, Colorado when I was 12 are a must-leave-in. Or the time I fell off of a 2-inch curb and sprained my ankle when I was drunk in college. Or the time I went to a huge wiccan gathering and everyone was skyclad and dancing and wonderful.
I think I will work on a movie poster to go with this little narcisistic fantasy. 🙂

Spread the love

Oh, my goodness! Your life does sound interesting. A nude skier? You certainly don’t find that very often.
You sound in a much better mood today. I am so glad. I know that you were probably kidding about the movie, but you should consider writing a book or screenplay. You certainly have the writing talent.

Hmm… I remember commenting on this entry. I don’t know where it went, but I’d like to comment again.
TV shows have always been a fascination for me. Nowdays, I barely watch TV.. but I remember the good shows like Name that Tune.. and Roseanne. Many laugh at her show, but I think that it’s a very realistic and direct type of TV program. not to mention the good time of jeering and laughing that one can spend in the couch.
If you’re going to make a show, I say that pursue a well-thought script first, which I’m sure you won’t find any problem in doing. And I’d be one of your number one fans. LOL.. that better include a free drink and popcorn!
